Blog Tour: Week two (Boston)
January 1, 1970
Friday, May 11: The second stop on my book tour takes us to one of the most popular bloggers on Gather.com: Kathryn Esplin Oleski . Kathryn lives in Boston. I met her via the internet on Gather.com and when I gave my first reading in Boston at the Harvard Coop, she was there rooting for me. I’ve been interviewed many times on radio and in print and found Kathryn's questions among the most thoughtful and provocative I’ve been asked. She’s also written a fine review of The Scent of God. I hope you’ll visit Kathryn’s Blog and leave a comment that you’ve been here. I will be connecting with Kathryn’s site throughout the day to respond to comments and answer questions you might want to ask. So what's a book blog tour? Hey, I'm an author and I'd never heard of one until Rachelle Gardner-- a popular Christian blogger who'd read my book and left a stunning comment there -- asked me if I was doing one. Let me say that If you like attending author readings, you will love visiting book blog tours. Blog tours bring authors right to your computer screen without the need to battle traffic or high gas prices to meet them. Each blogger brings a distinctive voice and insight to the event, eliciting from the author exciting insights about the writing process and the psychological, cultural, and emotional underpinnings of the book. It seemed logical to ask the blogger who'd introduced me to book blog tours to host my first stop. Last week my blog tour took me to Rachelle Gardener's blog of musings on faith, kids, marriage, books and life. Stop in if you missed it. Whether you are a writer or a reader you'll find something new at each stop. And, don't forget that today is the LAST DAY you can enter the contest to win a signed copy of my book! The Scent of God was just nominated by booksellers for a Midwest Booksellers Book Award and the Minneapolis Star Tribune named her as a "Best of 2006 Minnesota Authors."
